Introduction
Exception handling and retries are critical aspects of any integration process. In this Boomi Groovy script, we’ll explore how to effectively manage exceptions and enable retries to enhance the robustness of your integration within an easy to implement groovy script. The Script
To achieve seamless exception handling and retries, we’ll be using the following script: This script is designed to:- Manage exceptions that occur during your process.
- Enable automatic retries before terminating the integration process.
- Keep track of the number of retries and control their timing.
Implementation Steps
- Create a Dynamic Process Property named “RetryCount” and initialize it to 0 at the beginning of the integration flow using the Set Properties Shape. This property will keep track of the retry count.
- Create another Dynamic Process Property named “Retry” and initialize it with a static value at the start of the flow. This property will determine whether a retry should continue or not.
- Import the required libraries and define the necessary variables within the script.
- Implement the retry logic, where the script will check the retry count against the maximum limit. If within the limit, it will initiate a retry and wait for a specified duration before the next attempt. If the limit is exceeded, the retry process will be stopped.
- Ensure that the script properly handles the retry count and updates the Dynamic Process Properties accordingly.
